Summary of the Committee Version of the Bill

HCS HB 46 -- WORLD WAR II DAYS OF REMEMBRANCE

SPONSOR:  Shoemaker (8)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Homeland
Security and Veterans Affairs by a vote of 16 to 0.

This substitute requires all state agencies and political
subdivisions to fly the United States flag at half-staff on May
8, June 6, September 2, and December 7 in honor of World War II
veterans.

FISCAL NOTE:  Not available at time of printing.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill has no cost and is a
way for the state to honor its veterans.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Richard; and Veterans
of Foreign Wars.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
