Summary of the Committee Version of the Bill

HB 521 -- MISSOURI FIRE EDUCATION TRUST FUND

Co-Sponsors:  Dethrow, LeVota, Wasson, Wilson (119), Kuessner,
Purgason, Munzlinger, Emery, Bruns, Wildberger

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Local Government and Related Matters by a vote of 14 to 0.

This bill allows the Missouri Fire Education Trust Fund to receive mon
from gifts, grants, or appropriation by the General Assembly.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that volunteer fire fighters need to
continue their education and training.  The volunteer
firefighters have no other source of funds to pay for education,
training, and equipment.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Dethrow; and Missouri
Fire Education Commission.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
