This bill allows political subdivisions to provide health insurance benefits to retired officers and their dependents and the dependents of deceased officers of the political subdivisions. Currently, these benefits are only offered to employees and their dependents. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill makes a technical correction to legislation passed in 2000 by allowing political subdivisions to provide health insurance benefits to retired officers or deceased officers and their dependents.
