HB 200 -- Death Penalty Co-Sponsors: Johnson (47), Villa, Deeken, Fraser, Sander This bill requires that defendants found guilty of murder in the first degree must be sentenced to life in prison without parole if the jury fails to vote unanimously for the death penalty. Current law allows the judge to sentence the defendant to death when the jury is unable to agree upon a sentence of death or life in prison without parole.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
