HB 231 -- Criminal Sentencing Co-Sponsors: Jolly, Marsh, Willoughby Currently, when a law is amended to reduce the penalty for violating that law, defendants receiving their original sentencing must be sentenced or fined using the amended law, regardless of when the offense was committed. This bill repeals that requirement. Current law also allows the Board of Probation and Parole to convert a convicted defendant's consecutive sentences to concurrent sentences. The bill repeals that authority.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
