HB 250 -- Termination of Law Enforcement Officers Sponsor: Johnson (90) This bill requires law enforcement agencies to provide any officer who is terminated a written statement of the reason for the termination with supporting citations from the agency's policies and procedures. Terminated officers may also request a hearing before the agency's hearing or grievance committee, and the results of the hearings will be written and distributed to all parties involved. Previous law excluded officers employed by the state, elected sheriffs or deputies, and the highest ranking officer of an agency and applied not only to terminations but demotions or suspensions that resulted in a reduction or withholding of compensation.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
