HB 270 -- Retirement for Administrative Law Judges

This bill revises provisions pertaining to the Administrative Law
Judges and Legal Advisors' Retirement Plan (ALJLAP).  Any
administrative law judge or legal advisor employed on or after
January 1, 2004, who has not been previously covered by ALJLAP
will be required to participate in the Missouri State Employees'
Retirement System (MOSERS).

Effective January 1, 2004, the liabilities and assets of ALJLAP
will be transferred and combined with MOSERS.  The contribution
rate certified by the MOSERS Board of Trustees for the system
after January 1, 2004, is required to include amounts necessary
to cover the costs of ALJLAP.  No alteration or repeal of ALJLAP
will affect the existing rights of members, spouses, or their
beneficiaries.
