Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 362 -- Transportation of Pupils

Co-Sponsors: Cunningham (86), Moore, Luetkemeyer, Reinhart

This bill prescribes conditions under which it is permissible for
a public school district to provide transportation to resident
pupils in the district who do not attend public schools. If this
transportation can be accomplished without use of state or
additional local funds or capital expense and the parents or
guardian agree to pay the actual cost of transporting the pupil,
the local board may provide the transportation. The bill details
how to determine the cost and provides directions for payment.
Any district that provides this transportation must develop rules
to address priority of seating non-public-school pupils and
development of bus routes. Local school boards may prescribe
further rules for eligibility for transportation.
