Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 557 -- Unused Sick Leave for Retirement

Co-Sponsors: King, Davis (122)

This bill revises provisions pertaining to credited service for
unused sick leave accumulated by members under the Highways and
Transportation Employees' and Highway Patrol Retirement System
(HTEHPRS), the Missouri State Employees' Retirement System
(MOSERS), and the Missouri State Employees' Retirement System,
Year 2000 Plan (MSEP 2000).

The bill repeals a provision which prohibits members of HTEHPRS
and MOSERS from using credited sick leave to reach the required
time for vesting.

The bill allows members retiring under HTEHPRS to use sick leave
accruals to meet service requirements for normal retirement
eligibility under the Year 2000 Plan.

Finally, the bill also prohibits members under MSEP 2000 from
using credited sick leave for determining eligibility for
retirement.
