Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 605 -- Historic Materials in Public Schools

Co-Sponsors:  Kelly (36), Jetton, Selby, Crowell, Emery, Ervin,
Reinhart, Wright, Dixon

This bill allows local school boards, teachers, and
administrators to read or post in public school buildings and at
school events any excerpt from a specified list of documents
related to American and Missouri history and citizenship.  The
bill prohibits censorship of any of the specified items based on
religious reference and also prohibits the use of any document to
advance or inhibit religious beliefs.
