HB 692 -- Offender Health Care Co-Sponsors: Viebrock, Sander, Dixon, Whorton, Emery This bill requires that when offenders in the custody of the Department of Corrections become ill and are in need of medical or dental treatment, the cost of care be paid by the offender through any health insurance policy in which the offender is eligible to receive benefits, by the acquisition of any source of income paid to the offender, or by the liquidation of assets owned by the offender. In cases where there are no insurance, income, or assets available, the department is responsible for the costs incurred for medical care.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
