AN ACT

To amend chapter 574, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to offenses against public order, with penalty provisions.





Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 574, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 574.095, to read as follows:

            574.095. 1. As used in this section, the term "sports official" means any referee, umpire, or person serving in a similar capacity who:

            (1) Registers with or belongs to a local, regional, or national organization which provides education and training to referees and umpires; or

            (2) Serves as a volunteer.

            2. A person commits the crime of intimidation of an athletic coach, manager, or sports official if he or she violates subsection 1 of section 565.070, RSMo, or subdivision (1) of subsection 1 of section 565.090, RSMo, and the violation is motivated by the individual's status as an athletic coach, manager, or sports official.

            3. Intimidation of an athletic coach, manager, or sports official is a class D felony.<br><hr><br><a href=”https://house.mo.gov”><img src=”/graphics/home_btn.gif”>Missouri House of Representatives</a>
