AN ACT

To amend chapter 208, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to Medicaid and Medicare eligibility.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 208, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 208.016, to read as follows:

            208.016. For purposes of determining eligibility for Medicaid and Medicare benefits for persons sixty-five years of age and older, "resources" does not include the cash value of any and all life insurance policies that have a total cash value of five thousand dollars or less and have been in force for a minimum of five years.
