AN ACT

To amend chapter 488, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to court costs and attorney's fees.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 488, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 488.310, to read as follows:

            488.310. In any civil action filed after August 28, 2003, the appropriate circuit court shall award court costs and reasonable attorney's fees to the prevailing party to be paid by the nonprevailing party or parties. If more than one party is responsible for such costs and fees, such costs and fees shall be equitably apportioned by the court among the responsible parties.
