AN ACT

To amend chapter 252, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to fishing contests.





Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 252, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 252.250, to read as follows:

            252.250. The department of conservation shall not require persons or corporations sponsoring or conducting a fishing contest on any lake in the state of Missouri to obtain a fishing permit or license if:

            (1) The contest is part of a multistate fishing contest; and

            (2) There is only one tagged fish with a value in excess of one thousand dollars and less than one million one dollars per lake; and

            (3) All fish are tagged by the sponsor in the presence of a representative from the department of conservation; and

            (4) No fee or consideration is required to enter the contest; and

            (5) Each participant in the contest possesses a fishing license; and

            (6) The contest is completed in less than thirty days.
