House Concurrent Resolution No. 28
92ND GENERAL ASSEMBLY
Whereas, the Missouri General Assembly believes it is important to recognize the achievements of fallen law enforcement officers; and
Whereas, William "Bill" Lark was a dedicated officer for the Holt County Sheriff's Department and lost his life in the line of duty while assisting others on December 7, 1994; and
Whereas, William "Bill" Lark was well respected among the law enforcement community and the citizens of Holt County, and he touched the lives of many people through his dedication as a Chief Deputy for the Holt County Sheriff's Department; and
Whereas, Officer Lark risked his life everyday to help others, and went above and beyond the call of duty everyday of his life, whether on duty or off duty, serving the public as a law enforcement officer; and
Whereas, Officer Lark has been recognized on national, state, and local law enforcement officers' memorials as a dedicated, well respected officer who died in the line of duty:
Now, therefore, be it resolved that the members of the House of Representatives of the Ninety-second General Assembly, First Regular Session, the Senate concurring therein, hereby designate the portion of Interstate Highway 29 between mile marker 89 and mile marker 92 as the "William 'Bill' Lark Memorial Highway" in honor and memory of the late Chief Deputy of the Holt County Sheriff's Department, William "Bill" Lark; and
Be it further resolved that this resolution be sent to the Governor for his approval or rejection pursuant to the Missouri Constitution.
