Rep. Kate
Meiners, a Democrat, represents part of Jackson County (District 46) in the
Missouri House of Representatives. She
was elected to the House in November 2002.
Rep. Meiners worked
for The Independent Magazine for five years doing special projects.
A member of
St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Rep. Meiners is also a member of the following
organizations: Grandview Chamber of Commerce; Citizens for Good Government; and
the Sierra Club. Rep. Meiners is an
avid grassroots fundraiser for numerous non-profit organizations including
Helping Hands, St. James Soup Kitchen and Operation Breakthrough. She is also an active supporter of Notre
Dame De Sion High School and area non-profit organizations.
A 1977
graduate of O’Hara High School, Rep. Meiners attended Central Missouri State
University.
Born December
31, 1958 in Kansas, Rep. Meiners lives in Kansas City with her husband,
Dan. They have two daughters: Meagan Marie and Sally Elizabeth.
