Rep.
Mark Wright, a Republican, represents northwest Springfield (District 137) in
the Missouri House of Representatives. He is the Assistant Majority Floor Leader
and also serves as chairman of the Committee on General Laws and as vice chair
of the Rules Committee.
Rep.
Wright formerly owned BagTags Delivery Service, a small business that operated
throughout Southwest Missouri and Arkansas. He currently serves as executive director for Friends of Roy
Blunt.
His
background includes experience working as a teen and college counselor for
several churches, where he developed gang, drug and alcohol awareness programs.
His political activities include serving as a delegate to the 1996 Republican
National Convention in San Diego, and as chairman of a presidential campaign in
Missouri’s 7th Congressional District.
Rep.
Wright's civic activities include membership in the Parkcrest Baptist Church, Robberson
Elementary School PTA, and the Woodland Heights Neighborhood Association.
Rep.
Wright attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield where he pursued a degree
in pastoral studies.
Born
February 18,1969, in Ft. Worth, Texas, Rep. Wright currently resides in
Springfield with his wife, Tiffany.
They have three children, Jacquelyn, Savannah and Preston.
