Rep. Larry
Morris, a Republican, represents a portion of Greene County (District 138) in
the Missouri House of Representatives.
He was elected to the House in November 2002.
In addition to
his legislative duties, Rep. Morris is a licensed professional counselor. He has previously worked for the Social
Security Administration (1965-90), in Poplar Bluff, Chillicothe, St. Joseph,
Union and Springfield as an administrator in the claims taking process.
Rep. Morris is
a member of Cherry Street Baptist Church in Springfield and a member of the
American Association of Christian Counselors.
A 1961
graduate of Hillcrest High School, Rep. Morris received a bachelor of science
degree in education in 1965, a bachelor of science degree in psychology in 1994
and a master’s in guidance and counseling in 1996, all from Southwest Missouri
State University.
Born December
30, 1942 in Springfield, Mo., Rep. Morris resides there with his wife, Michal
Ann. They have four children: Jeff, Jonathan, Joel and Julie, and four
grandchildren.
