REP. MIKE DETHROW

92nd General Assembly

 

Rep. Mike Dethrow, a Republican, represents Carter, Oregon and Ripley counties and parts of Butler and Wayne counties (District 153) in the Missouri House of Representatives. 

 

In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Dethrow is a farmer and a businessman. He has a lifelong association in agriculture, and since 1977 has been involved in business, marketing hogs for area farmers, operating his livestock-farm business and helping his wife and partner in their computer business.

 

A trustee and chairman of the administrative council in the Alton United Methodist Church, Rep. Dethrow is a current member or has served in the following organizations: Farm Bureau; Missouri Pork Association; National Rifle Association; District 9 Transportation Advisory Committee; MDA Marketing and Animal Health Committees; Alton Area Chamber of Commerce; City of Alton Economic Development Committee; Oregon County Action Group; Lions Club; Oregon County Fair Board; Oregon County Extension Council and EXCEL graduate.

 

A 1970 graduate of Alton High School, Rep. Dethrow received his bachelor of science degree in agriculture from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1974 and his master of science degree in 1975. He was also an instructor at Muscatine Community College before returning to the farm and livestock market business.

 

Rep. Dethrow is the fourth generation of his family living and raising a family in Oregon County. Born August 7,1952 in Thayer, Mo., he lives on his farm near Alton with his wife Barbara. They have one son, Michael, Jr.
