92nd General Assembly
Rep.
Lanie G. Black III, a Republican, represents parts of Cape Girardeau, Scott,
Mississippi, Stoddard and New Madrid counties (District 161) in the Missouri
House of Representatives.
In
addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Black operates a poultry farm near
Charleston. He was a diver in the U.S.
Navy.
A
1965 graduate of Charleston High School, Rep. Black received a bachelor's
degree in chemical engineering from Vanderbilt University in 1970.
His
civic activities include the Kiwanis Club, Farm Bureau, and a scoutmaster for
the Boy Scouts of America. He attends
the First Baptist Church. Rep. Black
was honored in 1993 as the Charleston Man of the Year for his community
involvement.
Born
December 30, 1946, in Cairo, Ill., Rep. Black currently resides in Charleston
with his wife, Ann. They have two
children, L.G. and J.J..
