AN ACT

To amend chapter 130, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to campaign contribution taxes for education.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 130, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 130.170, to read as follows:

            130.170. 1. A tax is hereby imposed on any contribution regulated by this chapter made to any candidate or committee that receives contributions and is required to file disclosure reports pursuant to this chapter. The tax shall be in an amount equal to ten percent of the contribution received, and shall be reported and remitted to the director of revenue at the same time as the filing of each disclosure report required by section 130.046.

            2. The revenue derived from the tax imposed pursuant to this section shall be deposited in the state public school fund established in section 166.011, RSMo.
