Summary of the Committee Version of the Bill

HB 1259 -- LICENSURE OF MOTOR VEHICLE DEALERS

SPONSOR:  Threlkeld

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation and Motor Vehicles by a vote of 20 to 0.

This bill gives motor vehicle dealers or manufacturers the right
to file, within one year, a complaint with the Administrative
Hearing Commission if the Department of Revenue refuses to issue
or renew their license.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2005, FY 2006, and
FY 2007.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say the bill will allow motor vehicle
dealers to be treated like other licensed professions.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Threlkeld; Greg
Mitchell; Missouri Power Sports Dealers Association; and Larry's
Motor Sports.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
