HB 1259 -- LICENSURE OF MOTOR VEHICLE DEALERS SPONSOR: Threlkeld COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Transportation and Motor Vehicles by a vote of 20 to 0. This bill gives motor vehicle dealers or manufacturers the right to file, within one year, a complaint with the Administrative Hearing Commission if the Department of Revenue refuses to issue or renew their license. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2005, FY 2006, and FY 2007. PROPONENTS: Supporters say the bill will allow motor vehicle dealers to be treated like other licensed professions.
