HB 1275 -- CONVEYANCE IN NEWTON COUNTY

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Local Government by a vote of 17 to 0.

This bill authorizes the Governor to convey the National Guard
Armory located in Newton County to the City of Neosho.  The deed
provides for a perpetual easement to the American Legion Post
#163 located in Neosho for the use of the premises.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2005, FY 2006, and
FY 2007.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the state no longer needs this
building while the City of Neosho does.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Wilson (130).

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
