HCS HB 1405 -- SPECIAL LICENSE PLATES SPONSOR: Crawford (Dougherty) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Transportation and Motor Vehicles by a vote of 18 to 0. This substitute allows special license plates for members of the Missouri Association of State Troopers Emergency Relief Society and for members of the Missouri DeMolay. To obtain these special plates, individuals must obtain an emblem-use authorization statement from the association ($25 contribution) and present it to the Department of Revenue along with a payment of a $15 fee in addition to the registration fee and any other documents required by law. Revenue from contributions will be used solely for the purposes of the Missouri Association of State Troopers Emergency Relief Society or for Missouri DeMolay scholarships and other charitable programs. No additional fee will be charged for the personalization of these license plates. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on General Revenue Fund in FY 2005, FY 2006, and FY 2007. Estimated Effect on Other State Funds of a cost of $9,696 in FY 2005, an income of $7,438 in FY 2006, and an income of $7,438 in FY 2007. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that members of Missouri DeMolay would like this recognition. Testifying for the bill was Representative Dougherty.
