Summary of the Committee Version of the Bill

HB 1508 -- CHIEFS' CHILDREN'S FUND

SPONSOR:  Crawford (Baker)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation and Motor Vehicles by a vote of 18 to 0.

This bill allows the emblem-use fees received for the Kansas City
Chiefs' license plate, less an amount not in excess of 5% of the
cost of administration, to be deposited into the Chiefs'
Children's Fund.  The fund is established to benefit needy
children in the Kansas City area.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2005, FY 2006, and
FY 2007.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say this plate will recognize the Kansas
City Chiefs and help support a program the Chiefs organization
strongly supports.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Baker; and Kansas
City Chiefs.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
