HB 1572 -- CERTIFICATION PROCEDURES SPONSOR: St. Onge COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Small Business by a vote of 15 to 0. This bill requires the Office of Administration to apply certification procedures for minority business enterprises and women's business enterprises from other states that are as restrictive as the procedures used in the enterprise's home state. If the other state's procedures include restrictive requirements such as residency, Missouri's certification procedures must be reciprocal with the requirements of the other state. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2005, FY 2006, and FY 2007. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill is a result of an oversight review committee's recommendations. It would require certification procedures from other states to be applied reciprocally in Missouri. It will level the playing field between Missouri and other states with regard to certification of minority business enterprises and women-owned business enterprises Testifying for the bill was Representative St. Onge. OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee. Amy Woods, Legislative AnalystCopyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
