HB 1666 -- SPECIAL LICENCE PLATE SPONSOR: Ruestman COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Transportation and Motor Vehicles by a vote of 20 to 0. This bill allows for a special license plate for supporters of the American Heart Association. To obtain the special plate, individuals must obtain an emblem-use authorization statement from the American Heart Association ($25 contribution) and present it to the Department of Revenue along with a payment of a $15 fee in addition to the registration fee and any other documents required by law. Revenue from contributions will be used solely for the purposes of the American Heart Association. No additional fee will be charged for the personalization of license plates. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on General Revenue Fund in FY 2005, FY 2006, and FY 2007. Estimated Effect on Other State Funds of a cost of $5,848 in FY 2005, an income of $625 in FY 2006, and an income of $625 in FY 2007. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that they would like this recognition, and it will help support programs of the American Heart Association. Testifying for the bill was Representative Ruestman.
