HCS HB 895 -- ROAD DISTRICTS

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Local Government by a vote of 18 to 0.

This substitute allows Jasper County, upon voter petition, to
disincorporate any special road district.

The substitute contains an emergency clause.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill establishes a procedure
to terminate a special road district.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Emery.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
