HB 1079 -- County Fines

Under current law, the Boone County Commission is authorized to
impose a civil fine of not more than $1,000 for misdemeanor
county ordinance violations; and the county counselor, rather
than the county prosecuting attorney, is required to prosecute
these violations.  Fines are paid into the county general fund
and used to pay for the cost of enforcement of the ordinances.
This bill authorizes the Cass County Commission to impose these
fines.
