HB 1157 -- Motor Vehicles

This bill modifies the definition of "driveaway operation" to
include the transporting of vehicles in transit from one place to
another by driveaway or towaway methods.  Driveaway license
plates may only be used for the purpose of transporting vehicles
in transit and may not be used by tow truck operators
transporting wrecked, abandoned, disabled, improperly parked, or
burned vehicles.

The bill also gives land improvement contractors' commercial
motor vehicles an operating area of not more than 50 miles from
home base of operations when transporting its owner's machinery,
equipment, or auxiliary supplies to or from projects not
involving soil and water conservation.  Currently, the operation
area is 25 miles from home base.
