HB 1221 -- State Employees Sponsor: Seigfreid This bill allows state employees the right to discuss agency operations with the Attorney General or any state official or body charged with investigating any alleged misconduct by a state agency. Under current law, state employees only have a right to discuss operations with members of the General Assembly and the State Auditor. The bill also allows a state employee who alleges that disciplinary action was taken against them because the employee reported prohibited activity, violation of law, or waste by the agency to bring civil action for damages within 90 days after the occurrence of the alleged violation. The bill outlines the procedure for bringing the civil action. Harassment of the employee by the agency is also prohibited.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
