Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 1257 -- Gaming

This bill makes changes to the laws regarding gaming.  The bill:

(1)  Repeals the $500 loss limit on gaming excursions;

(2)  Authorizes the Missouri Gaming Commission to promulgate
rules for cashless wagering systems;

(3)  Increases from $2 to $7 the amount paid to the commission
for gambling boat excursion admission fees;

(4)  Specifies the amounts which will be deposited in the State
Treasury in care of the Gaming Commission Fund and the Gaming
Proceeds for Education Fund; and

(5)  Increases the rate on adjusted gross receipts for licensees
from 20% to 22%.  Twenty percent of the adjusted gross receipts
tax will be deposited in the Gaming Proceeds for Education Fund.

The provisions of the bill are to be submitted to the qualified
voters of this state in a special election to be held August 3,
2004.
