HB 1273 -- Department of Transportation Employees' Annual
Leave

This bill allows employees of the Department of Transportation to
accrue annual leave hours and annual leave maximum balances on a
graduated years-of-service basis.  Beginning October 1, 2003,
employees are to receive 10 hours per month until they complete
their tenth year of service with a maximum leave balance of 240
hours, 12 hours per month until completion of their fifteenth
year of service with a maximum leave balance of 288 hours, and 14
hours per month thereafter with a maximum balance of 336 hours.

On October 1 of each year, beginning January 1, 2005, accrued
annual leave time in excess of the maximum may be deposited into
the department's Shared Leave Program, used for purchase of
retirement credits within certain limits, or used for equivalent
cash deposits into the employee's Deferred Compensation Plan
within certain limits.
