HB 1287 -- Sexual Offenses

This bill lengthens the statute of limitation for sexual offenses
to 20 years after the victim reaches the age of 18.  Under
current law, the limitation is 10 years after the victim reaches
the age of 18.

The bill also amends the law governing who must register as a sex
offender.  The bill:

(1)  Adds the crime of promoting child pornography to the list of
crimes for which a person must register as a sex offender; and

(2)  Requires persons convicted of sex offenses in a foreign
country or in a military jurisdiction to register as sex
offenders.
