HB 1355 -- Punitive Damages

This bill limits the amount of punitive damages that may be
awarded against a defendant to the greater of $500,000 or five
times the net amount of the plaintiff's judgment against the
defendant.  The limits apply if the State of Missouri is the
plaintiff, if the defendant pleads guilty to or is convicted of a
felony arising out of the acts or omissions pled by the
plaintiff, or if all of the elements of a felony are found by
clear and convincing evidence in a bifurcated trial.
