HB 1385 -- Abuse of Authority over a Child

Sponsor:  Dixon

This bill creates the crime of abuse of authority over a child.
A person commits this crime if he or she commits any type of
sexual offense against a child who is under the age of 14 and was
able to commit the sexual offense because he or she had care,
custody, or control or occupied a position of authority over the
child.  A person who is guilty of the crime is subject to
imprisonment for a term of between five and 10 years in addition
to the punishment provided for the sexual offense the individual
committed.  Individuals sentenced under this section are not
eligible for probation or parole for five years.
