Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 1506 -- College Tuition

Sponsor: Reinhart

This bill makes certain students eligible for in-state tuition
rates, regardless of a student's immigration status. If a
student has attended high school for two or more years in
Missouri and has graduated from a Missouri high school or
achieved the equivalent of a high school diploma in-state, and,
if an alien, has filed an affidavit stating intent to become a
permanent resident of the United States at the earliest
opportunity, the student qualifies for in-state tuition. These
students may be counted for apportionment purposes by community
college districts as full-time equivalent students. Student
information obtained in implementing the bill must be kept
confidential. Students may transfer between institutions and
keep their in-state tuition status.
