HB 1629 -- School Bus Seat Belts

This bill requires that beginning with the 2004-2005 school year,
every school bus must be equipped with seat belts.  A surcharge
of $1 for each motor vehicle moving violation will be accessed,
collected, and credited to a newly created School Bus Seat Belt
Fund administrated by the Department of Elementary and Secondary
Education.  Revenue from the fund will be used to help school
districts pay for the installation of seat belts in their buses.
