HB 1725 -- Crime Victims Sponsor: Harris (23) Under current law, a victim of crime has the right to be informed of proceedings involving his or her case and the prosecution and incarceration of the offender. This bill clarifies that a victim must be notified of any decision by a circuit court regarding the release of the offender to enter a drug treatment program or the release of a first-time, nonviolent offender after 120 days of incarceration, upon the recommendation of the Department of Corrections.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
