HB 1728 -- Domestic Violence Sponsor: Donnelly This bill revises the definition of "stalking" and adds the definitions of "repeated" and "alarm" as they relate to the adult abuse and child orders of protection statutes. The bill requires the court to retain jurisdiction over full orders of protection for their duration and allows for periodic compliance reviews. It also specifies that orders of protection are enforceable by all remedies available by law. Currently, an individual who is convicted of a misdemeanor and violates the terms of his or her probation or parole may be detained for 15 days or the maximum term of imprisonment authorized for the misdemeanor, whichever is shorter. The bill changes the length of detention to the shorter of 30 days or the maximum term.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
