HB 1751 -- Missouri State Workers' Compensation Council Sponsor: Harris (23) This bill creates the Missouri State Workers' Compensation Council which is to annually report to the Governor and the General Assembly its recommendations for legislation relating to workers' compensation and submit suggestions on pending legislation to the appropriate legislative committees. The Department of Labor and Industrial Relations will provide the council with department records, services required, employee testimony, and recommendations on legislation and rules. The council may, except if prohibited by a concurrent resolution of the General Assembly, commission an outside study of the Missouri Workers' Compensation Law. The study will be paid from the General Revenue Fund in an amount not to exceed $25,000. The first study is to begin in Fiscal Year 2009 with a successor study every five years thereafter. The council's composition, terms, appointment requirements, and certain member voting and nonvoting designations are specified.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
