Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 1765 -- Lobbyist Reports

Sponsor: Zweifel

This bill requires lobbyists to file verified registration forms
with the Missouri Ethics Commission no later than January 5 of
each year or five days after beginning lobbyist activities and
removes the requirement that lobbyists provide the commission
with a summary of legislation they supported or opposed.

Under current law, a lobbyist can file a single report for
expenditures made on behalf of certain groups, rather than
individuals in the group. The bill removes from the list joint
committees of the General Assembly, standing committees of the
House of Representatives or Senate, and General Assembly
caucuses.
