Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 819 -- Traffic Violation Records

Sponsor:  Thompson

This bill allows a person convicted of a first traffic offense to
petition the court to seal the record of the arrest and
conviction.  The person cannot have been convicted of an alcohol-
related offense or a second traffic offense.  The person's record
will be sealed to employers after one year from the date of
conviction and to insurers after two years from the date of
conviction.  A person is entitled to have his or her traffic
record sealed only once.
