HB 925 -- Leaving a Child in a Motor Vehicle Sponsor: Threlkeld This bill creates the crime of leaving a child in a motor vehicle unattended in the third degree. Under current law, there is a first degree and a second degree for the offense. The offense is committed in the third degree when a child is left unattended in a motor vehicle and the keys are left in the vehicle, whether or not any person is injured as a result.
