SCS HB 1634 -- MILITARY DISCHARGE RECORDS; REPRODUCTION OF VITAL
RECORDS

This bill provides that all images of military discharge records
older than 75 years are deemed principally of historical or
genealogical interest and will be open records.

The State Registrar of the Department of Health and Senior
Services is required to accurately reproduce vital records with
durable materials.  The device used to produce a record must
accurately reproduce and perpetuate the original record in all
details.  The bill requires that death records over 50 years old
be transferred to the Missouri State Archives and will be open
records.
