AN ACT

To amend chapter 130, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to political campaign fund-raising activities.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 130, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 130.039, to read as follows:

            130.039. No candidate for the office of governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, attorney general, state treasurer, state auditor, state senator, or state representative, nor any committee formed on behalf of the candidate, shall engage in or participate in any fund-raising event, activity, or method conducted on behalf of the candidate's campaign for any such offices during the following periods:

            (1) From the day the general assembly convenes under section 20, article III, Constitution of Missouri, to the day the general assembly adjourns sine die in any regular session under section 20(a), article III, Constitution of Missouri;

            (2) From the day the general assembly convenes to the day the general assembly adjourns sine die in any special session under section 20(b), article III, Constitution of Missouri; and

            (3) During the time the general assembly reconvenes to reconsider vetoed bills under section 32, article III, Constitution of Missouri.
