AN ACT

To amend chapter 9, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the designation of the month of October of each year for commemoration of German history.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 9, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 9.135, to read as follows:

            9.135. The month of October of each year shall be known and designated as "German History Month". It shall be a month in which the rich history and culture developed by people of German descent shall be examined and commemorated. All teachers are encouraged to incorporate into classroom discussion any literature, pictures, artifacts, or historical documents relating to German culture and history to promote educational awareness of significant contributions by people of German descent.
