AN ACT

To amend chapter 167, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to civil liability for teachers.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 167, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 167.168, to read as follows:

            167.168. No teacher or administrator shall be liable in a civil action based on his or her decision to suspend or expel a student, or his or her refusal to promote a student to the next grade level, when such action has been taken in response to a student's proven act of plagiarism.
