HCS HB 215 -- ANNEXATION AUTHORIZATION

SPONSOR:  Johnson, 47 (Pearce)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Local Government by a vote of 14 to 0.

This substitute permits the City of Warrensburg to annex areas
along a road or highway up to two and one-half miles from the
existing city boundaries.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2006, FY 2007, and
FY 2008.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that extending this annexation
authority will allow the City of Warrensburg and Central Missouri
State University, through cooperative efforts, to more fully
utilize and develop certain airport property.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Pearce; City of
Warrensburg; Central Missouri Development Corporation; and
Central Missouri State University.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
